Would you like to study French to apply for Canadian citizenship?

Canada has two official languages: English and French. If you’re 18 to 54 years of age on the day you sign your application, you must show that you can speak and listen at a specific level in one of these languages. To become a citizen, you need to meet the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 4 or higher/ or B1 or higher of the  Common European Framework for Languages. I can help you to get ready for your interview and also prepare you for one of the various certificates, diplomas or tests accepted by the Canadian authorities:

• Test d’Évaluation de Français pour le Canada (TEF Canada)- B1 level or higher
• Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF)– at least B1 level or higher
• Diplôme approfondi de langue française (DALF) – C1 or C2 level
• Test de connaissance du français (TCF)– B1 level or higher
• Test de connaissance du français pour le Québec (TCFQ)- Level 4 of CLB
• Test d’Évaluation du Français adapté au Québec (TEFAQ)– Level 4 of CLB

The ways they measure your language skills in French include:

• reviewing the proof you send with your application
• noting how well you communicate when you talk to a citizenship official anytime during the process
• assessing your language level during a hearing with a citizenship official, if necessary
