Would you like to become a French citizen?
To become a French citizen, you must pass a language test called TCF-ANF (French Knowledge Test for Access to French Nationality). It is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. B2 level is required (to check your level, click here).
TCF-ANF is a new version of the TCF and is specially designed for people who have to justify their level in French to access French nationality.
There are two compulsory tests:
– Oral comprehension (30 questions). Length of the test: 30 minutes
– French oral (6 questions). Length of the test: 15 minutes
Currently, the “TCF for access to French nationality” certificate is only valid for an application for French nationality. It cannot be used to register, for example, at a French university or in an immigration application for Quebec.
Please note that DELF B2, DALF C1 and DALF C2 holders are exempted from executing this test. Holders of a certificate of completion of the TCF general speaking test, validating level B2 or higher in each of two tests of listening and speaking comprehension, are also exempted from the execution of the test.
Please double-check, as the law and requirements can change quickly. I will do my best to help you and provide accurate information, but please remember that I am not a legal expert. However, I am fully qualified to help you with French and ensure you are ready for your interview and/ or test. To discuss your needs and the course content, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
